Schema Policy
Structured Data Rules for Cosmetology Licensing Pages
How schema should support licensing guides without fake ratings, duplicate Yoast data or misleading government claims.
Why Structured Data Is Used
Structured data helps search engines understand page purpose, official-resource lists, FAQs and step-by-step guidance. It does not replace accurate content or official verification.
Schema We May Use
| Schema type | Use |
|---|---|
| FAQPage | Visible licensing FAQs with real answers. |
| HowTo | Visible steps such as how to verify a license or report a correction. |
| ItemList | Visible official board/resource lists. |
| VideoObject | Only when a relevant visible video is embedded and accurately described. |
Yoast Compatibility
If WordPress or Yoast already outputs core WebPage, Organization, Article or Breadcrumb data, we avoid unnecessary duplicate schema. Page-specific schema should match visible content.
Schema Rules
- No fake ratings, reviews or government-agency claims.
- FAQ schema must match visible FAQs.
- HowTo schema must match visible steps.
- Official-resource schema must not imply affiliation.
- Video schema must describe the embedded video accurately.
What We Do Not Use
We do not use schema to pretend we are a state board, licensing agency, accredited school, exam vendor, CE provider or official renewal portal.
Schema Should Clarify, Not Mislead
Helpful structured data supports real content and trust.
