Why Exam Information Needs Care

Exam requirements vary by state, license type, language, practical format, testing vendor and application status. A user may need board approval before scheduling. Incorrect exam guidance can cause missed deadlines or wasted fees.

NIC and Candidate Bulletins

NIC provides exam resources and Candidate Information Bulletins used in some states and jurisdictions. When we reference NIC, we still tell users to confirm whether their state uses that exam, what version applies, and which vendor schedules it.

Exam Vendor Policy

States may use PSI, Prometric, Prov, Pearson VUE, DL Roope, board-administered practical exams or other systems. We link to official vendor pages only when the state board identifies the vendor or the vendor page clearly belongs to that state program.

Limitations

  • We do not schedule exams.
  • We do not guarantee passing scores, eligibility or accepted IDs.
  • We do not provide official candidate bulletins unless linked to the official source.
  • We do not sell exam prep or imply endorsement from an exam provider.

Exam Self-Check

  1. Confirm state approval. Make sure you are eligible to test.
  2. Open the latest bulletin. Check content outline, supplies, identification and prohibited items.
  3. Verify fees. Exam and reschedule fees may be separate from board fees.
  4. Check practical requirements. Supplies, kit rules and sanitation steps matter.

Exam Rules Change by State

Always use the current bulletin and board instructions before scheduling.
