Corrections, Updates and Manual Re-Verification Policy
How we handle reader reports, official board changes, broken links and licensing-page updates.
Why Corrections Matter
Cosmetology board pages change often. A moved renewal portal, outdated fee, changed CE rule or old exam bulletin can directly affect a user. We treat correction reports as part of the editorial system, not as an afterthought.
How to Report a Correction
- Copy the page URL. Send the exact page where the issue appears.
- Identify the problem. Broken link, outdated fee, wrong phone number, old portal, unclear step or missing official source.
- Share the official source. If possible, include the board page that supports the correction.
- Use the Contact page. Label the message “Correction.”
High-Priority Corrections
- Official board website changes.
- Renewal or application portal changes.
- License lookup or complaint link errors.
- Fee, CE, renewal or exam bulletin changes.
- Information that could cause payment to the wrong site.
Correction Review Process
We compare the report against official sources, update the affected guide when needed, add clearer cautions where the issue could affect user action, and improve related pages if the same problem appears in more than one guide.
Review Dates
Important guide pages should include a last-reviewed or editorial review note where useful. Minor typo fixes may not change the date, but board-link, fee, renewal, CE, exam or complaint-path updates should trigger meaningful review.
Report Board Changes Fast
Reader updates help keep state licensing guides accurate.
